Hi! My name is Adalynn, and I believe that knowing our history is essential, so we do not repeat its mistakes. More than just events and dates, history is about real people whose lives and actions still inspire us today. Some of my favorite moments in American history include the Boston Tea Party, which stands as a courageous protest for independence, and the Molasses Flood, a strange yet fascinating piece of industrial history. My hobbies—watercolor painting, reading, coloring, and digging into God’s word—all add depth and joy to my life. As a Christian who wholeheartedly loves the Lord, these pursuits help me connect with faith, creativity, and history.
I also admire people who followed their convictions, like Rosa Parks, whose story of quiet resistance is as inspiring as it is moving. Her refusal to give up her seat despite knowing the risks changed history. Benjamin Franklin, a man who never backed down from a challenge, is another of my heroes. His achievements, from establishing the postal system to his influential role in shaping the colonies, inspire me to keep learning and growing. Both figures teach us the importance of standing strong in our beliefs.
Thanks, Adalynn ❤️
Hi, I’m Logan, but people call me "Giggles." History has always been interesting, especially when it comes to uncovering stories that shaped America. One of my earliest heroes was Abraham Lincoln, though I’ll admit it was his top hat that first caught my attention! Even now, I admire him for his integrity and the resilience he showed during one of the most challenging times in American history.
Beyond the hat, Lincoln’s dedication to unity and his drive to lead with compassion are qualities I find inspiring. I believe history is full of unique characters, just waiting to be uncovered and appreciated in all their quirky and remarkable ways.
I am Brandon Taylor a 15-year-old with a fascination for history, particularly drawn to ancient and medieval battle tactics. Known for his keen curiosity, Brandon often researches obscure battles and tactical maneuvers, captivated by how generals of the past shaped history through clever strategies. His favorite class is, of course, history, where he eagerly dives into military campaigns and analyzes famous formations.

Hello! I am Airborne, and I have a passion for cool things! I love planes and find it fascinating how they fly through the sky. World War II is another interest of mine; I enjoy learning about history and the different battles that took place. Tanks are also exciting to me because they played a significant role in many wars. Besides my interests in military history, I am a huge dog lover! They make the best pets and friends. Lastly, I have a keen interest in physics, which helps me understand how things work in our world. I am excited to share my thoughts and discoveries about these topics! My American Hero. For me, my American hero is Dwight, D, Eisenhower, the POTUS and former US General persevered through out the troubling times of WW2 and after. His life began on October 14th, 1890, in Denison Texas and on June 14th, 1911, he began his military career at U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Rising to the rank General of the Army, and later Commander and Chief of the United States Military. One reason I feel connected to him is his patriotism and leadership throughout one of the most devastating wars ever
Hi, I’m Genevieve! I’m a huge fan of anime and love getting lost in a good book. Cosplay is one of my favorite hobbies, and I enjoy going to comic cons where I can meet voice actors from shows I love. I also crochet in my free time and have started a collection of anime figurines that keeps growing.
When it comes to history, I don’t have a single favorite event because there’s just so much to find interesting! From pivotal battles to groundbreaking inventions, I think history is filled with stories as engaging and diverse as the worlds in my favorite anime series.

Hey I’m Samuel, but most people call me “Sam.” Here are some of my hobbies and interests, Brazilian Ju Jitsu, hiking, camping, reading books (lots of books), flying RC planes and drones, playing airsoft, Minecraft, coding, and lots of other stuff. Due to dyslexia, I didn’t always enjoy reading books, but now I can’t put them down.
I have many different heros, but one of my favorite is Nikola Tesla. Nikola Tesla was a super genius inventor who came up with some wild ideas, like wireless communication way before anyone else even thought it was possible. He had over 300 patents, and some of his coolest inventions were things like the Tesla coil, alternating current and the first versions of neon lights. Tesla was a little strange. He was super interested in the number three and had to have everything just so, like staying in hotel rooms that had a number divisible by three.
Nikola Tesla introduced the first remote-controlled boat in 1898 at Madison Square Garden, demonstrating the ability to maneuver it via radio waves. This groundbreaking invention, which Tesla dubbed a "teleautomaton," used a wireless controller to direct the boat's movements, foreseeing future applications in vehicles and military technology. The exhibition amazed and freaked out spectators. He also created a machine he said could cause earthquakes. One time, he tested it in his lab in Manhattan, and it started shaking the building so much that he had to smash it with a sledgehammer to stop it. There’s also reporting about a device called a "death ray" he said he made that could wipe out entire armies.
Even though he was a genius, Tesla ended up poor and wasn't really recognized for his work until after he died in 1943. After he died, the FBI even swooped in and took all his stuff, which has kicked up all sorts of wild conspiracy theories. Tesla’s life was like something out of a comic book, and it’s pretty cool how much stuff he figured out before anyone else.
Every time I fly one of my drones or drive one my RC cars, I am reminded of his awesome “teleautomaton” invention which alone changed the world. He has so many inventions which we use every day without thinking of his contribution – turning on the lights your house, watching TV, connecting to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth – all of these are based on technology Tesla invented.
Hi, I’m Kaelan. Right now, I’m training in both Jiu-Jitsu and Judo, which are challenging but really rewarding. I’m also an active member of the Boy Scouts, where I learn important skills, take on leadership roles, and enjoy outdoor activities. My hobbies cover a lot, especially technology. I’m really into virtual reality and gaming because they’re so immersive and exciting. I’m also learning Python and working toward making my own video game, which lets me combine my love for coding and creativity. At home, I have five pets that bring a lot of happiness to my life: two dogs, a fish, a rabbit, and a snail, each with their own unique personality that makes our home lively. One fun fact about myself is that I was born in Hawaii.
The American hero I’ve chosen to write about is Elon Musk. Elon Musk is a well-known entrepreneur and inventor who has made a huge impact on several important industries, including electric cars with Tesla and space exploration with SpaceX. His big dream is to help humans live on other planets, which is why SpaceX is working on reusable rockets, hoping to eventually colonize Mars. In the meantime, on planet Earth, Elon Musk has developed the concept of Hyperloop, which he refers to as the ‘fifth mode’ of transport (in addition to cars, planes, boats, and trains). Hyperloop will be used for ultra-fast inter-city travel and could transport people at speeds of around 750 mph. The idea behind Hyperloop is to ease traffic congestion and allow people the opportunity to experience the convenience and affordability of high-speed travel.
Elon Musk also co-founded PayPal, which changed the way we pay online. He’s since started other companies, like Neuralink, which looks at connecting the human brain to computers, and The Boring Company, which focuses on underground transportation. Some cool facts about Elon Musk include his first coding achievement at age 12, when he created and sold a video game called Blastar to a computer magazine for $500. In the game, players control spaceships with five lives and face challenges like alien freighters, hydrogen bombs, and status beam machines. Another cool fact is that Elon Musk had a cameo in the movie Iron Man 2, which was partly filmed at SpaceX’s factory in Hawthorne, California.
The reason I chose to write about Elon Musk is because he is inspirational to me, and I believe what he has done in technology is something that will benefit each and every one of us now and in the future. As a 12-year-old myself, I am just getting started with coding and Elon Musk’s early successes has inspired and taught me that even young people can start becoming successful entrepreneurs. Elon Musk proves that if we stay focused, apply ourselves to whatever we do, and make a point to never stop learning, each and every one of us can make a positive difference in our futures.
Hello, I would like to introduce myself. My name is L.J., I’m 11 years old and the youngest member of M.A.R.S. I have many interests, like math, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, coding, playing the violin, hunting, and fishing. I enjoy solving math problems and training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu to learn discipline and teamwork.
I also like making fun projects. In my free time, I play the violin and love being outdoors, whether I'm fishing or hunting. One of my biggest dreams is to be the President of the United States someday. I’m excited to keep learning and following my passions!
I share a common interest with Thomas Jefferson, who was also passionate about a variety of subjects, including math and the sciences, and had a strong interest in the outdoors. Like me, Jefferson was a multifaceted individual; he was not only a Founding Father and the third President of the United States but also an avid gardener, inventor, and musician. Jefferson's love for knowledge and diverse interests reflects the same curiosity and ambition that I demonstrate in wanting to pursue multiple passions and aspire to be President one day.
My name is Olivia Lee, and I dance with Huntsville Ballet, where my love for movement and storytelling comes alive on stage. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, I bring a mix of Midwestern spirit and Southern warmth into everything I do. While ballet is my main passion, I’m also an avid reader and can easily get lost in a good book – I’ve always had a knack for interpreting stories, whether on paper or in motion.
Beyond ballet and books, my life is filled with furry friends. I have two precious cats, including a Maine Coon and a sleek black cat, plus a border collie dog that completes our little pack. Although they can be exhausting, they keep me grounded and bring me so much joy and inspiration. I’m constantly striving to grow, not only as a dancer but in every aspect of life. I’m excited to keep learning and making new memories on and off the stage.
The American historical figure that I look up to is Elizabeth Marie Tall Chief. Also known as Maria Tallchief, was a hardworking and dedicated ballerina who became one of the most celebrated dancers of her time and remains an inspiring figure in ballet history. She was Born in 1925 in Fairfax, Oklahoma, she was a member of the Osage Nation and broke barriers as the first major prima ballerina from a Native American background. Her journey to success was marked by dedication, grit, and a lifelong love for the art of ballet.
Tallchief’s talent was evident early on, and her career soared when she joined the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, where she met choreographer George Balanchine. As his muse, she became a central figure in the founding of the New York City Ballet, and her iconic role in "The firebird" secured her place as one of the greatest ballerinas of the 20th century. Her performances were known for their power, precision, and elegance, reshaping what the world thought women could achieve in dance.
Maria Tallchief’s life is an inspiration to me because she pursued excellence in an era when few Native American women were recognized in the arts. Despite facing cultural stereotypes and intense challenges, she remained dedicated to her vision, helping elevate ballet in America and encouraging others to honor their heritage while following their dreams. Her legacy inspires me to keep moving with dedication and resilience even while it seems impossible or challenging.
